College of Marin Day Hike

This trip is for the English language learners of Professor Elizabath Boner.  We will leave the clasroom and walk along Corte Madera Creek on the multi-use path.  We will share info about the watershed, local history, birds, plants, wildlife, weather, and more.

College of Marin Student Day Hike

A group of about 15 to 20 international students at the College of Marin will take a short hike through a nearby watershed/openspace area.  The hike will conclude at about noon.  All of the students are English Language learners, very interested in polishing their English with ICO volunteers as well as learning about plant and animal species along the trail.

ARISE HS Snowshoe Trip to Hutchison Lodge

We will be taking 20 High Schools students from ARISE HS in Oakland up to the Hutchison Lodge near Sugarbowl for a weekend of snow activity.  We plan to cook most of our meals in the Hutchinson Lodge, but will have a our Saturday night dinner cooked for us family style at the nearby Clair Tappan Lodge.  We will spend our time snowshoeing, hiking, and enjoying winter activities in the Donner Lake area.

Oakland High School Newcomers Yosemite Camping Trip

The Oakland High School Newcomers Program has organized a camping trip to Yosemite National Park, departing from Oakland High on Wednesday, April 10, returning by the evening of Friday, April 12. 

The Program is comprised of newly arrived students from around the world, primarily from Central America.  They are an eager and energetic group.  The Program leader is also experienced with camping.  Vigorous day-hikes and hearty meals are planned for the two-night camping trip. 

Several ICO volunteers are needed to provide transfortation for the trip.

All meals will be provided for ICO volunteers, but volunteers should bring personalk camping equipment. 

ICO volunteers also must have been approved through the OUSD approval process to participate in a trip involving OUSD students.
